Applications being accepted for new Goodwill Games Scholarship

Applications are being accepted to the newly established Montague – Mount Hamilton Goodwill Games Scholarship.

Established earlier this year, the fund was created by the Hennebery Family to recognize the role their parents, Mary and Reg Hennebery, played in establishing and supporting the Montague – Mount Hamilton Goodwill Games. Mary and her brother, Ernie McKenna, co-founded the Goodwill Games in 1969.

An award estimated at $500 will be awarded to an Island student who meets the following criteria:

  • A resident of Prince Edward Island
  • Attending a post-secondary educational institution in the year the scholarship is awarded
  • Participated as a player in the Montague – Mount Hamilton Goodwill Games on the Montague Minor Hockey Association team
  • Essay outlining experience in the Goodwill Games and educational and career goals (max 400 words)
