Community Foundation of PEI Announces – PEI Chase-the-Ace Online Lottery

The Community Foundation of PEI is thrilled to announce a brand-new initiative in of support the recently established CFPEI COVID-19 Community Impact Fund.

The PEI Chase-the-Ace Online Lottery is a 100% online progressive jackpot, multiple-draw, weekly raffle in which ticketholders have the chance to win a Semi-Weekly Prize and the Chase the Ace Progressive Jackpot.

Islanders can now purchase tickets online at www.chasetheacepei.ca.  Ticket packages offered include: 10 tickets for $10, 30 tickets for $20, 100 tickets for $50 or 250 tickets for $100.  The very first draw will be made on Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 pm and subsequent draws will then be made bi-weekly at the same time.  The Foundation has announced that they have guaranteed a minimum progressive jackpot of $2,500!

After selecting the ticket package of their choice, the purchaser will also pick an envelope that they think might contain the Ace of Spades. If that ticket is chosen, the winner will receive 20% of that period’s ticket sales – and if the card in the envelope is the Ace of Spades, they will also win the Chase the Ace Progressive Jackpot. If the card is not the Ace of Spades, the progressive jackpot grows and that card is removed from the deck, increasing the chances of catching the ace next week.  Semi-Weekly draws continue until the Ace of Spades is found and the Progressive Jackpot is won…and then we start again!

The Semi-Weekly Prize is valued at 20% of ticket sales collected during a specific draw period. The Chase the Ace Progressive Jackpot is valued at 30% of all ticket sales collected over the course of the multi-week campaign and the balance of 50% is earmarked for the COVID-19 Community Impact Fund at the Community Foundation of PEI.  The Semi-Weekly Raffle winning ticket number will be selected by a random number generation system from all raffle numbers sold for that Semi-Weekly Raffle.

Purchasers must be 18 years of age or older at the time of purchase and must be located in the Province of Prince Edward Island at time of purchase.

“Chase the Ace lotteries have been very popular, and we wanted to give people an opportunity to participate in a fully online option which has never existed before”, said CFPEI President Jonathan Ross.  “The benefits are twofold for purchasers…first of all, they get an opportunity to win the bi-weekly prize and the progressive jackpot, and secondly, they will be supporting a wonderful PEI support program through the Foundation”.

Tickets can now be purchased at www.chasetheace.ca.  Good luck!

Information about the CFPEI COVID-19 Community Impact Fund

As COVID-19 impacts our world and our community, the Community Foundation of PEI (CFPEI) is spearheading a COVID-19 Community Impact Fund to assist local organizations in meeting the needs of others.

The Foundation has allocated $25,000 of its annual community grant funds towards spearheading this initiative and the PEI Department of Fisheries and Communities has matched with an additional $25,000.  The goal is to raise $100,000 or more to be dispersed to registered charities and qualified organizations whose work helps provide relief for those whose lives have in some way been impacted by the coronavirus.

The original intent of the CFPEI Community Impact Fund for 2020 was intended to support Vital Signs initiatives.  However, it is clear that COVID-19 is more vital than anything else we could possibly assist with right now.
